The TEN4CARE consortium meets in Bilbao for a productive six-month review
This February, the consortium’s 16 international partners gathered in the vibrant city of Bilbao to hold their six-month General Assembly. These two days of intense collaboration marked a crucial moment in our mission to revolutionize regenerative medicine for tendon injuries.
Coordinated by the University of Pavia and Biokeralty, the meeting focused on harmonizing technical specifications and accelerating the development of a solution designed to dramatically reduce healing times and improve patients’ quality of life.
The meeting provided a forum to delve deeper into the fundamental work packages (WPs) driving our innovation:
- Advanced biomaterials: partners discussed the synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles and the design of state-of-the-art 4D shape memory hydrogels.
- Engineering and digitization: the team analyzed advances in automated centrifugation systems and specialized electromagnetic stimulation devices.
- From lab to market: A dedicated workshop was held to identify key exploitable results (KERs), ensuring a clear roadmap for future commercialization.
- Social impact: We reinforced our commitment to engaging patients and society, ensuring that the technology responds to the clinical needs of the real world.
Witnessing material progress through physical samples reinforced the consortium’s confidence, demonstrating that the project’s scientific objectives are successfully translating into concrete tangible solutions.
The success of the Bilbao meeting was made possible by the diverse experience of our partners from Italy, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, and Spain.
Special thanks go to the speakers who shared their strategic vision and scientific rigor during the sessions, including representatives from our coordinating institutions and partner organizations. Their spirit of collaboration is the driving force behind TEN4CARE’s goal of transforming tendon repair.
