Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science: the female leadership driving TEN4CARE

For the TEN4CARE consortium, February 11 is much more than just a date on the calendar. It is an opportunity to celebrate the diverse, world-class talent that drives our research every day. Coinciding with our strategic meeting in Bilbao, organized by Biokeralty, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to excellence and gender equality in STEM.

We are immensely proud to work under exceptional female leadership, headed by our project coordinator and principal investigator, Dr. Giuseppina Sandri. Under her leadership, and together with a group of brilliant experts from our 16 international partners, TEN4CARE is pushing the boundaries of medical science through:

  • 4D biomaterials: developing innovative structures with shape memory capabilities.
  • Advanced nanotechnology: using magnetic properties to improve tendon recovery.
  • Digital twins and artificial intelligence: pioneering the use of artificial intelligence for personalized patient treatments.

At TEN4CARE, ‘Science with a woman’s name’ is not just an aspiration, it is our everyday reality. The work carried out by our female researchers not only contributes to advancing our technical milestones, but also serves as inspiration for the next generation of girls who dream of transforming healthcare from the laboratory.
