TEN4CARE will take part in the NANOMED Summer School 2026 on Tissue Engineering at the University of Pavia

The TEN4CARE project consortium will play a prominent role in the NANOMED Summer School – “Medicinal Tissue Engineering”, a high-level intensive programme to be held from 20 to 22 July 2026 at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Pavia. This international event will bring together Master’s and PhD students to cover the full spectrum of tissue engineering and regeneration, from basic research to clinical and regulatory approaches.

This year’s edition will serve as an excellent showcase for the TEN4CARE project, demonstrating our consortium’s scientific leadership. Throughout the conference, several key members of our project will share their experience and vision with the next generation of researchers:

  • Giampaolo Brichetto (Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis – RiMS) will deliver a keynote presentation on clinical pathways, unmet needs and emerging regenerative perspectives in tendon disorders.
  • Deborah Bertorello (Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis – RiMS) will present our project’s work directly in her talk ‘Bridging Science and Society in Bio-Nanotechnology: The TEN4CARE Journey’, emphasising the importance of connecting science with society.
  • Beatrice Lucia Bona (University of Milan) will present the latest developments in the use of thermoplastic biomaterials for tissue engineering and regeneration.
  • Adriele Prina-Mello (Trinity College Dublin) will discuss the translational approach required for the development of the next generation of medical devices.
  • Ángel del Pozo (Biokeralty Research Institute) will bring the consortium’s sessions to a close with a presentation focusing on the future and the use of knowledge in research (“What’s next: the use of knowledge in research”).

In addition to these presentations, the summer school will be organised and moderated by Giuseppina Sandri and Silvia Rossi (University of Pavia), both key figures in the TEN4CARE project, who will be responsible for leading several of the scientific sessions and the course introduction.

Participation in the NANOMED Summer School reaffirms TEN4CARE’s commitment not only to technological and medical innovation in the treatment of tendinopathies, but also to excellence in training, scientific dissemination and the promotion of direct dialogue between academia, industry and future healthcare professionals.
