The TEN4CARE consortium is thrilled to announce its upcoming participation in the 35th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB 2026), taking place from September 7 to 11, 2026, in the historic city of Antwerp, Belgium.

With more than 1,000 participants expected from across Europe and around the globe, the ESB meeting stands as a premier scientific forum. It unites multidisciplinary experts from chemistry, physics, biology, and medicine to drive clinical solutions in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

During this prestigious congress, TEN4CARE will present a scientific poster titled “Design of Innovative Shape Memory Polyurethanes for Tendon Tissue Repair“. The presentation highlights the project’s latest achievements in developing shape memory polyurethane (PU) materials for advanced orthopedic scaffolds.

Tendon disorders remain a major clinical challenge, causing chronic pain and physical limitations, while traditional surgical interventions often result in weak, disorganized scar tissue with poor elasticity.

To overcome these barriers, TEN4CARE’s research focuses on smart polymers engineered to offer a highly advanced regenerative solution:

  • Body Temperature-Triggered Recovery (37°C).
  • Enhanced Antimicrobial Properties.
  • Mimicking Native Tissue Architecture.

Sharing these structural and functional breakthroughs at ESB 2026 highlights TEN4CARE’s commitment to bridging basic research, applied biomaterials science, and clinical translation to deliver safer, minimally invasive therapies to patients worldwide. We look forward to connecting with the global biomaterials community and meeting you in Antwerp this September!
